The Dales Pony Society of America (DPSA) is a not-for-profit organization originally formed in 1999. Its mission is to “Preserve, promote and protect the Dales Pony in North America”. Its primary objectives are to:

  • Register purebred and part bred Dales Ponies in the United States and Canada using the criteria established by the Dales Pony Society (DPS) in the United Kingdom.

  • Offer double registration for ponies already registered with the DPS.

  • Approve and license stallions using the criteria established by the DPS.

  • Actively promote the breed across North America through:

    • maintenance of an active Web site

    • sponsorships of shows and competitions including Mountain and Moorland Pony shows and discipline competitions including but not limited to dressage (e.g., Dressage Pony Cup), combined driving events, and hunter/jumper shows

    • creation of and contribution to outside media (books, magazines, social media, etc.) to further market Dales Ponies as versatile mounts for children and families as well as for competitive riders and drivers

  • Support Dales Pony owners and breeders by providing a variety of networking opportunities.

  • Promote the safety, health, and welfare of the Dales Pony through education and networking efforts across the continent.

Membership is $35 per calendar year ($20 after June 30) and provides the following benefits:

  • Significantly reduced rates for pony registration and transfer of ownership

  • Free advertising on Member Listings pages of the Web site

  • Free Member Gallery on Web site

  • Annual newsletter
